Mattie McGrath demands Tipperary Town bypass, slams delays
Deputy Mattie McGrath urged the minister to fund and deliver a bypass for Tipperary Town, calling for urgent action to remove lorries and ease town centre congestion. He accused another minister of blocking progress and warned residents were "going grey" waiting for relief.

All local organisations back the bypass, including the Chamber, Match for TIP, Jobs for TIP, Councillor Henry Ryan and many councillors. McGrath said the whole community wants the relief road to allow people to live, work, play and breathe clean air.

McGrath pressed the minister to provide the funding and criticised a specific minister in the transcript for having "his foot on it". He urged the minister to stop photo opportunities and deliver the project on the planned footprint.

Mr Minister, you visited Tipperary Town some years ago with Deputy Cairn and others regarding the bypass for Tipperary Town. The people in Tipperary Town and surrounding areas will be grey and are going grey, waiting for this much-needed relief road to get out the lorries and trucks out of the town. All the organisations, the Chamber, the Match for TIP, the Jobs for TIP, Councillor Henry Ryan and many other councillors, all the councillors in fact, and everybody wants this bypass. There is a plan for the N24s, you know, but that's not happening, because Minister Ryan has his foot on it. So I want Minister Ryan to get off his foot and get yourself and others to provide the funding, to provide on the footprint of that new road, the bypass of Tipperary Town, to allow the people there to live, work and play and indeed, breathe clean air and let the truckers too avoid their frustration and delays. It's a major route from Rustley right up to Fiennes and Galway, and it must be done, and it's up to you to deliver. Don't mind coming for photo opportunities and photo shoots and not delivering this project. It has to be delivered, or they'll all be grey. Thank you, Minister Turbler.
