Mattie McGrath urges continued funding for N24 and N25
Mattie McGrath spoke on 8 Feb 2022 about funding and continuity for the N24 and N25 road projects, urging the minister to intervene. He said the NDA has not got a penny to continue the N24 from Caire to Waterford and the N25 Dungalva Road and asked Minister Ryan to emphasise their importance.
Funding shortfall for N24 and N25
The deputy reported that the NDA currently has no funds to continue work on the N24 from Caire to Waterford and on the N25 Dungalva Road, stressing the immediate financial gap affecting both schemes.
Political unity in the south-east
He said all the politicians in the south-east are at unison on the need for these projects, presenting a united regional position seeking continued support and prioritisation.
Consultants' deadline and urgency
He warned that recta-scale consultants have only another month before they leave, creating a time-sensitive window to maintain project momentum and planning continuity.
Request for a meeting with Oireachtas members
He asked directly for a facilitated meeting with Oireachtas members from the south-east so the issue can be addressed with the minister and indicated he awaited a clear yes or no response. He closed by thanking the minister for being present.
