Mattie McGrath calls for correction over vaccine priority and worship penalties
Mattie McGrath raised concerns about vaccine access for Argadish Econa and demanded the minister correct the House record on penalties for public worship. He said Argadish Econa were previously number 10 on the vaccination list, have been pushed down the list, and are frontline workers who need vaccines.
Vaccine priority concerns
McGrath highlighted the "very serious situation" of Argadish Econa not receiving the vaccine. He warned they were moved from number 10 to a much lower position on the picking list and stressed they are frontline workers whose access to vaccination should be reviewed.
Request for ministerial correction
He sought time for the minister to appear in the House to "correct the record" following statements made in debate. McGrath said a prior remark by Deputy MacDemeyer asserted there would never be a penal provision for public worship, and he wants that position clarified by the minister.
Dispute over public worship penalties
McGrath said the original assurance - that public worship would not be subject to penalties, summonses, fines or imprisonment - has been contradicted. He said the Taoiseach and the Gardaí and others have now presented the opposite view, prompting his call for correction.
Parliamentary consequence and tone
He asked that the House be given time to address both the vaccine priority issue and the conflicting statements on public worship. McGrath insisted the minister should correct the record so that misleading statements are not left standing in the House.

I do want to look for a change to have time here to discuss the very serious situation of Argadish Econa not getting the vaccine, they were number 10, now they're going way down below, I don't know where they're on the picking list, they're our front line, and I also want trying to make it available for Minister Donnelly to come in to correct the record of the House, what Deputy MacDemeyer asked for, where he told us here that it wouldn't be a penal provision, never be a penal provision, for public worship to be offered by a police, that it couldn't be summoned or fined or imprisoned, and now the opposite has been told by the Taoiseach and by the Gardaí and others, so I want time for the Minister to come in to correct the record of the House and not have his told lies in the House.
