Mattie McGrath criticises Unpust shipping cutoff for KB Sports
Mattie McGrath raised concerns about an unannounced Unpust shipping cutoff that he said will severely impact KB Sports and its deliveries. He warned the sudden decision could breach commitments to customers and damage a company that adapted to lockdown trading.

KB Sports is described as one of the top 50 online shippers in Ireland. Mattie McGrath said the company had taken on around 16 workers and was applying for 17 more to handle a large volume of online orders and deliveries.
Unannounced cutoff and timing
He said KB Sports were informed "just out of the blue" by Unpust that the last shipping date for Unpust was 14th of December. The company had not been made aware of this deadline and is now unable to fulfil many of its delivery commitments.

McGrath warned the cutoff will cause missed deliveries to clubs, families and international customers, creating a "huge breach of faith" and serious damage to the business. He described the situation as shocking for a company that adapted its operations during lockdown to support local customers.

He suggested contacting Unpust urgently on behalf of the company to seek clarification or assistance. He also noted he could not personally intervene in every operational decision made by semi-state bodies but recommended urgent inquiry into this specific case.

They have a huge amount of deliveries to make. They are one of the top 50 online shippers in Ireland and now they have hundreds and hundreds and thousands of deliveries to make. They have been informed by Unpust, just out of the blue, that the last shipping date for Unpust is 14th of December. They weren't aware of this or made aware of it. They decided to go over Unpust because they are a shop local, a support local and we have to produce a lot of fare and fish and ban and fish in the country. What they do. But this is shocking. Now they have commitments made to deliver all over the world and indeed to clubs and to families and everything else and it can't be done. They are going to be a huge breach of fate and very damaging to that company, a wonderful new company that adapted to suit the lockdown and help everybody else. So it is very, very serious. I don't know the details of the case. I don't know whether the Deputy has contacted Unpust or not. Perhaps I suggest we should contact Unpust urgently on behalf of the company. I can't deal with every individual decision of every semi-state body here in terms of their operational decisions. Thank you.
