Carol Nolan demands urgent action for Geil School na Leicre

Thank you so much. Tanaiste, page 86 of the Programme for Government makes reference to the introduction of measures that would modernise our education system and address the demands and pressures that face school leaders. I wish to ask a question in respect of Geil School na Leicre, Bourke County, Offaly. This school has been in temporary accommodation for years and this, of course, has impacted on its growth and development in that the temporary accommodation is now no longer suitable. Parents and teachers of the school are very, very concerned and have asked for urgent action to be taken over a long period of time. After I was contacted by the school principal, I submitted a parliamentary question and the reply to this stated that the Department of Education has been liaising with a state body in relation to the possible provision of the school's permanent accommodation in part of its property. I would just like to get an urgent update on the progress made because time and patience is running out and this school, Geil School na Leicre, Bourke, cannot be left in limbo any longer.
